Oh, dear...
I did what "they" always say to do, and I wrote out a list because "they" say that with a list you won't buy things you don't need.
What "they" fail to realise is that:
a) The list on paper in my hand and the list in my head are two different things entirely
and
b) when TWO shops don't have what is on your list (paper or head list), but have a 'SALE' section, list-be-damned!
One shop said over the tannoy system, whilst I was scurrying around the crafting section for the umpteenth time desperately seeking 3/16" eyelets, "If we don't stock it, you don't need it". Hurrumph! to that! They didn't stock it, and I needed it!
So I did what any woman in my situation would do... I shopped :)
Two shops and under £30 later, here's my little haul:
And yes, this really is my desk today... how tidy is that?!?
I had craft night at Pickwells Tuesday night, so all my crafting gear was packed up ready to take with me... only I was let down for a lift at the last minute, so wasn't able to go. My desk was an empty space, so I placed all my new-bought goodies onto it and thought I'd post a piccie.
Trouble is, a tidy desk is definitely a boring one :)
Next week, I'm sure it will be back to it's normal post-bomb-blast self *lol*
If you want to share your workspace piccies, pop over to see Julia at The Stamping Ground and follow the instructions for "What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday"
Spend some quality time being a nosey so-and-so and peeking through the wonders that are other people's crafting work spaces.
Have a wonderful WOYWW everyone!
Just a quick add to answer the questions from yesterday:
No-one stocked any Graphic 45 papers
The punches were boring and totally un-tempting
Haskins had run out of carrot cake!
This along with the frustrating lack of magnetic clasps/snaps, brads and eyelets - and being woken up a quarter to four in the morning by a rain-soaked and muddy kitty stomping over the bed, made my day somewhat of a disaster!

So sad you didn't get to to to your crafting event. So disappointing!!! *sad face* But all is not lost if you got to "save" money with lovely crafting goodies!!! My husband is always in such awe at the money I save him, lol!
Happy Crafting!

Glad you were able to get some goodies but oh how frustrating to not find the things on your 'list'.
I'm not sure I'd have been very happy about the 'wake-up call' LOL

Ha, ha - sorry to laugh but for an abortive shopping mission you did pretty well there :) Naughty Haskins though for having no carrot cake left - now that IS bad news.
Happy WOYWW,

Some great bargains on your desk, especially the stamps. Hope you manage to find the eyelets.
Thanks for visiting, since taking the photo I took scissors to fabric and cut some squares - only another 80 or so to go.

That looks like one fantastic shopping spree to me!!
I have far more lists going though.
There is the "things I really need" list
The things I would like "if they are on offer" list
The "one day I would like" list
and the one everybody probably has .. .. the "if money wasn't a problem" list. But this one stays in my head as hubby would have a heart attack if he could see that LOL!!!
Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog. Hope you are having a good week.
Love Jules xx
Love your desk and your haul! Love that you went off list :)
Thanks for sharing

I think you have made a point here I have been seeing myself....... And it's scaring me
Not many shops stock the lets call them upmarket or more expensive things like graphic 45 paper it's not cheap but it is so really lovely
Everyone sticks paper mania etc but there is less other stuff around to buy in shops

I have that Hero Arts music stamp from years back on a wood mount...one of my most used, useful and admired stamp even after all these years, so I applaud your investment! The problem with chain store craft shopping is that the stock is controlled centrally and not by a crafter..so the re-order button is simply to replace or take a whole line (which is what DO crafts, Papermania's brand owner) specialise in....Also quite hard for them to offer single sheet sales of stock like scrapbook papers because the damage done to them by people taking them out of the rack for a look and then shoving them back (if at all) and ripping and stealing, makes for losses that they aren't prepared to bear. Frustrating isn't it, that the independents have to put up with all that but still manage, huh!
I love your craft shopping philosophy and think I shall adopt it myself! Looks like you've got a lot to be getting on with:) I'm glad you liked my desk today and thank you so much for your kind words. Have a great week:) Lucy #23 x
Oh how lovely someone who has been shopping and is sharing with us. It is so lovely to come home and spread it out to see what you really bought.

So the title of that photo is "the 30 pound eyelets"? Always a pain when they don't stock what you need and then have the cheek to tell you you don't need it anyway!! Sorry about your craft evening, that's a pain.

Wow - sounds like you had a rough one. But you got a nice little haul - even if you didn't get what you went for. ;-) April #101
