WOYWW #337

Well, the last time I played at "What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday" was week number 196 - back in March 2014! It seems perfect that my decision to start blogging again should open with a WOYWW day :) I do believe I will be poster number 37 :)
So... My terribly untidy, disorganised work space is here...
So many unfinished projects - from star-making and wreath constructing, to choker finishing and rooting a reborn dolls head! Also including Polo mints for the dog and music for my entertainment and sanity! lol

The origami stars started out as a challenge from my niece Charmaine - can you do this? she asked - knowing full well I'd drop everything, get out my Christmas papers and start folding! The necklace chokers were lace tatted by my wonderful mum - I just have to put fittings on them, and a little cameo. On the far right are the cones I rolled ready to make another wreath - I make them exclusively for the "Boutique Village" in Southampton :)

Ah, yes... rooting a dolls head with mohair - such a time-consuming, annoying, fiddly job. Which is why it's still not done after weeks of laying there creepily waiting to be finished, so the head can be finally attached to the body and the reborn doll sold on to someone who'll keep her and treasure her forever (yes, there are plenty of people - all ages and genders - who pay good money for a well-made lifelike doll).

Right, time for a Mr Linky to WOYWW at The Stamping Ground, and a nose around other people's desks :)

Happy WOYWW. A busy desk with lots of fab projects. You are obviously a really crafty person. I had a long break from WOYWW (most of this year!) and still not back to getting on here every week, but determined to do some more crafting (have stepped back a bit on my business). I used to buy reborns - but sold them all earlier this year, as hubby hates them and I was having to keep them hidden away. They deserve to be more treasured, so they went to better new homes. I had to do a double take on that head LOL! I once saw a program about women who treat these dolls as real babies. I'm not judging, I guess it serves a psychological purpose, just like art-making does for us! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #33

I have nieces too and yes, I also drop everything for what they want to craft. I made origami claws for Halloween a few weeks ago. . .sigh.

The doll head is a little creepy. However, it does sound a super time-cnsuming process. I hope you can knock it out soon! Of course, it also looks like that bald spot that babies rub off from being on their backs so much after they're born. You could just go with that! Just kidding. ;)

Oooh, creepy doll head! I'm always a bit freaked out by doll and clown faces to be honest and I just couldn't have that on my desk....shivers! But I like those origami star..I've made a few like that when I was a TA in school :-)
It's nice to see you back btw!!
