WOYWW #406

ARGHH!!! For all my good intentions of once again being a regular bloggerite, life got in the way and I have done absolutely NOTHING. I have had my flu jab - and again got incredibly ill after having that awful needle jabbed into my arm (it was expected - though I am forever hopeful that one year, my flu jab will do nothing except protect me from the flu lol). So... apart from very slowly crafting and laying in bed feeling all sorry for myself, I have done very little - as my messy kitchen can testify to :)
It is now the extreme early hours of Wednesday morning, and I have 'things' on my mind that are keeping me awake - so, a perfect opportunity to partake in the ever-expanding, always interesting "What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?".  Ms Julia at The Stamping Ground hosts, and the rules and regs are over on her blog if you want to find out more or  take part :) This week I am number... 11
So, onto my desk...
 Bit boring, huh?!
I have finished the base of the project mini-album I started working on - it's an album with a drawer attached. I have to make all the tags and photo-matts to go inside now :)
I had to include this little bit of the desk - at the back there is my favourite pencil sharpener with hugging foxes on it ... so cute! The lucky troll was a present from my mum, a long time ago! She also crochet'ed the little flower it sits in. Oh... the foxy eye mask - that's my daughters and I am supposed to be repairing it.
I did treat myself recently - I bought a little craft tidy that hangs off the drawer of my desk - I just use it to keep my most-used glues and tapes handy :) It was £3 at 'The Works' ... a shop I have NEVER been able to walk past lol
I ordered myself a few paper pads too :) The mini-album drawer combo I just made was decorated using the "Wild At Heart" First Edition paper pack - I LOVE these papers :)
Now, I must apologise... some people may have noticed that the black curtains in my craft room always look a bit grubby and dusty. I swear it's not my fault... my cats love to sit on the windowsill as I am crafting - so it's not dirt or dust you see - it's just masses of cat hair :D
See...? This is Coco just sneaking out from behind the curtain. The local fox was just doing her rounds and my cats like to watch her from the safety of the inside lol
Coco (we call her "CoCoBean") loves nothing more than sitting on my crafting space and stopping me from working lol... but she's not the only distraction...
Barkley McScruffles doesn't like to be left out either, and he often sits or lays on my feet as I craft the hours away.

Well... that's my Workdesk this Wednesday - and I will admit that I have discovered something in the last two weeks...
I have tried my utmost to 'clear as I craft' and tidy up as I work on my projects and creations. It makes every project take twice as long... and it's BORING! I tidy up, and I can't find anything! Okay, so I do find it hard to find anything in the mess and chaos I create in the wake of my crafting anyway - but at least rooting around in piles of stash is fun (and I always seem to find something I'd forgotten I had too). Tidy crafting is boring crafting - mess is good :)
I shall leave you with that thought... and wish you all a wonderful week and a Happy Wednesday!

Your furry companions seem to enjoy being around the crafting.
I long for a lovely organised, tidy craft area but I do wonder if I would then be too frightened to use anything in case I made a mess LOL

Sometimes having the sniffles is a good excuse for doing nothing but staying in bed and reading a good book and giving the body time to repair.
But when you are itching to get on with your crafting how frustrating it can be.
Have a good week

Sorry, I have to tidy or I get in too much of a mess and then have to spend ages tidying (if you get my drift).
Love the name of your dog - that is so cute but I bet you shorten it when shouting him to come in. Love the cat too and know what you mean by cat fur on the curtains - a long time ago now for me but still a happy memory.
Gosh you have been a busy bee and I have to say I love the canvas caddy you got from the Works. Has someone got a thing for foxes in your house?
Hugs & Thanks for visiting me

Hi there. Just LOVE the names of your animals - such fun! The journal with the drawer looks fascinating - what fun to open and peek.
I confess to sort of partially clearing up - my desk is never completely clear of things, just a few get put away, then added to as I continue on to the next project... I'd like to be able to work neatly.... but.... well, it just never happens. Obviously I am destined to be messy!
Take care. God bless.

So humorous to see your cat on your desk as I showed Allistair on mine this week. Hope you get to feeling better as I know the flu can leave you feeling drained for weeks. The tidy craft hanger is cute and you put it to great use. Diane #15

Oh I actually made it to The Works last week and saw that "tidy" and was tempted but really didn't need another one LOL! What I actually went for was sold out :( Adore your mini album and drawer.
Thanks for the visit and actually I started harp playing with a small lap harp, now that would surly fit in your house. Got that for my 50th birthday and had never player anything before, am still working on it.....

It is always lovely to have two little companions join you at your desk. Love the projects family members leave knowing you can fix anything with a glue gun! Have a lovely week.

Love the album with the drawer attached - I love the chocolate coloured ribbon - just my colour! I like the little desk tidy too - as someone who obsessively clears my desk as I work I could do with that so might take a peek in The Works next time I'm in town!
Have a good week and I hope you are soon over the bad effects of the flu jab,

It must be nice to have furry company as you craft. Hope you recover from the flu jab soon. I've given up getting it as I was so poorly last time round. So far, no ill effects. I can't walk past The Works without looking inside either lol. Sarah #25

Love the concept of the album and the drawer. Am sorry you've been feeling so poorly, perhaps you ought to consider not having the flu jab, you must have a lot of immunity to various cold strains! For me, its The Range...can always find something in there!

Hi there, lovely to see pics of your cat- I'm definitely a cat person!Love that little tote- I must look for that when I next visit The Works. Like you, I can't pass it either, but haven't yet ventured into town since my surgery, but am thinking of doing it tomorrow. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #8 XxXx

you really should not react like that because the vaccine is a virus that cannot multiply - you just get enough to provoke your immune response to protect you should you get a dose of the real thing......you need to see if you are reacting to a component of the vaccine - not just egg - but the other chemicals we put into meds - or make sure you get the jab a bit sooner - you may have been exposed to live virus before you got your flu jab...;I love your foot warmer and No - your desk is not boring - it is inviting you in to play.. dxxx 13

I use the 'push back' method on my desk until I can't push stash back anymore - then it's worth while tidying up!!!
Have a good week

I totally agree with you regarding tidying up - I often use whats been left lying around for my journal pages (because I am too lazy to go and get something new!) I LOVE Barkley McScruffles - what an awesome name! And it seems to suit him too! I know if we had a fox in our yard (and it has been known to happen, my oldest cat was almost fox-dinner one evening, but she managed to fight her way out of it's mouth!)Inky would be right there in the window watching too! Your mini-album looks intriguing - I would love to see the insides! Thanks for sharing! Lindart #39

What is it about cats sitting with us crafters, mine is the same. As you will see on my last weeks WOYWW a sign saying 'Mess, that's not mess, that's creativity.
